Our water treatment consultants can design and implement a water treatment programme which could increase the efficiency of your plant and water system.

Tank Refurbishments and Upgrades

Water storage cisterns (commonly those over 20 years old) could possibly present a Legionella risk if they are not properly constructed and do not have secure lids, proper insulation, good front to back circulation or screened lid vents/overflows. To comply with Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and BS 6700 we offer the following:

Installation of ‘byelaw 30’ kits like screened lid vents, overflow insect/rodent screens
Tank lining/ painting

We offer flexible polypropylene lining for storage tanks which are corroded or deteriorated and the job could be completed within four hours depending of the size and condition of the tank. This is much faster than Glass Reinforced Plastics (GRP) lining as no curing time is required and comes with a ten years warranty.
Where lining is not practically possible, we recommend the application of solvent free epoxy coating or other Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) approved paints in compliance with BS6920.

Tank Insulation We carry out the insulation of all types of cold water storage tanks ranging from single one piece metal tanks to large multi-sectional tanks. Common insulation material varies from 50 mm foil backed rock wool slabs to blanket wrap depending on the size and type of the tank.

Tank Lids

Custom made tank lids ranging from one piece to multi sectional can be fitted to your water tanks, if required.

Rerouting of Piping

Stagnation of water is possible when the inlet and outlet piping is in the same side of storage tank, which could create ideal conditions for the growth of legionella bacteria. This can be corrected by rerouting the pipes diagonally to provide a good front to back circulation.

Hot and Cold Water System Disinfection

Following high microbiological count readings or plant inspection, our engineers can carry out disinfection on down services of your hot and cold water system. The disinfectants are dosed directly to the storage tanks if it is a cistern fed system or through direct injection by means of automatic dosing system.
Where traditional disinfectants like Chlorine or Chlorine Dioxide are not effective to remove biofilm from the pipe wall, we recommend the use of a blended Hydrogen Peroxide based disinfectant. This product can be used without flushing out the entire system, saving time and water. It is an approved product in the UK for use in potable water systems.
A Cleaning/Disinfection Certificate will be issued after the completion of the job.
