What Are Your Legal Requirements?

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 came into force on 6th April 2006 implementing the EU Physical Agents (Noise) Directive 2003/10/EC.

The Regulations state that an employer who carries out work which is liable to expose any employees to noise at or above the lower exposure action value shall make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk from that noise to the health and safety of those employees. The risk assessment should identify the measures which need to be taken to meet the requirements of these Regulations.

Failure to comply with The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 is in contravention of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 for which employers are liable for substantial fines and prosecutions. The HSE may also serve an Improvement or Prohibition Notice.
How Can We Help?

TEAMS Limited can offer tailored solutions to monitor noise levels in the workplace that give specific details on recognised noise descriptors including L EP ' d , L (A)eq, L (C)peak and Frequency Band Analysis.

TEAMS Limited uses Class 1 accuracy Sound Level Meters which are also capable of real time Octave Band Analysis. All site work and reporting is carried out by Senior Consultants who have passed the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) Module 'M104 Noise and Vibration' course.
